New for Summer 2008 at Carisbrooke!
An exciting new exhibition, hands on interactive activities and a virtual tour are all part of the imaginative new facilities recently unveiled after major investments at Carisbrooke Castle on the Isle of Wight.
Visitors can now dress up as soldiers, learn to use a cannon and crossbow at the interactive fighting wall, play a set of bowls on the Bowling Green and, of course, visit the Castle’s most popular modern-day residents – the Carisbrooke donkeys!

Eltham after the Courtaulds
Another chapter of Eltham Palace’s history is revealed…
A new display opening on 22nd June at Eltham Palace charts the history of the Royal Army Education Corps (RAEC) at Eltham. The RAEC was given Eltham Palace as its new headquarters in 1944 and marks a hugely important chapter in the property’s history. Most visitors associate the mansion with the fun and frivolity of the Courtaulds’ time here, but actually these lavish interiors were enjoyed by RAEC officers for far longer than the Courtaulds lived at Eltham.
